ROS generation in transfected HeLa cells measured by flow cytometer. Forty-eight hours posttransfection, cells were harvested, and ROS was measured with a fluorescence probe 2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA). Significant increase in ROS was detected in mutants compared with wild type and vector as indicated by the counts in the M1 region. As a positive control, ROS was measured in cells pretreated with 100 μM H₂O₂ for 30 min. Image represents two individual experiments.
