(A) Isogenic strains CLK43 (wild type [WT]), TGS6 (ΔtmpA), CGS49 (ΔfluG), CRO1 (cfwA2), CJRDtmpAcfwA2-4 (cfwA2 ΔtmpA), and CJRDfluGcfwA2-4 (cfwA2 ΔfluG) were point inoculated and grown for 5 days at 30°C. (B) Strains CGS49 (ΔfluG) and CJRDfluGcfwA2-4 (cfwA2 ΔfluG) were grown as in A at 30 or 37°C, and pictures were taken from the back of the plates. The yellow color of colonies in A corresponds to conidiospores, except in strain CGS49, where it corresponds to both conidiospores and Hülle cells, which are associated with sexual development.
