SeV F₀ protein expression. (A) Total F₀ protein expression. Vero cells expressing wild-type (Fwt) or mutant F proteins were labeled with [³⁵S]Promix for 15 min and chased for 3 h. Polypeptides were immunoprecipitated with a monoclonal antibody against the cytoplasmic tail of the F protein and analyzed by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. (B) Surface expression of SeV F₀ as analyzed by flow cytometry using M16, a conformation-specific monoclonal antibody to the SeV F protein ectodomain. Mean fluorescence intensities were normalized to 100% surface expression for Fwt. The solid line represents 100% Fwt expression.
