sHyal2 is a weak hyaluronidase with a pH optimum of ∼5.6. Fifty-microgram samples of hyaluronan were incubated at 37°C at various pH levels with either 28 ng HyalX (A) or 9 μg sHyal2 (B). The samples were then separated in a 0.5% agarose gel by electrophoresis and visualized with Stains-All.
