These are results using the draft sequence of the human genome (2,895,388,086 bases) and 1,655,188 nonredundant single nucleotide polymorphism (SNF) sequences. Mapping was performed on four AMD K7 (1GHz, 512 MB memory) personal computers running the FreeBSD operating system. The time shown includes both UniMarker (UM) iIdentification and SNP positional assignment, the former accounting for ∼50% of the total time in the case of the 15-mer assignment.
