Cell adhesion assay optimization. SKOV3 cells were [³⁵S]methionine labeled, and increasing numbers of cells were added to each well in quadruplicate, which contained confluent monolayers of mesothelial cells. Binding was allowed to occur for 5 minutes (▪), 15 minutes (○), or 30 minutes (•), and then unbound cells were washed two times. Relative cell adhesion was assessed by measuring the amount of radioactivity as described in Materials and Methods. In this experiment, 20,000 cells corresponded to 33,000 cpm. Data are expressed as mean ± SD.
