Inhibition of ovarian carcinoma cell adhesion to mesothelial cells by MAbs against the β1 integrin subunit or CD44. Ovarian carcinoma cell lines SKOV3 (A) or NIH:OVCAR5 (B) were labeled with [35S]methionine and preincubated with increasing concentrations of P5D2, a MAb against the β1 integrin subunit (▪); IM7, a CD44 MAb (•); or normal mouse IgG (negative control, ○). Cells were then added to confluent monolayers of mesothelial cells in the continued presence of the IgG and allowed to adhere for 20 minutes.
