Identification of integrin subunits involved in ovarian cancer cell adhesion to ECM proteins. SKOV3 (A) or NIH:OVCAR5 (B) cells labeled with [35S]methionine were preincubated with MAbs against the β1 integrin subunit (dark bars), or various α-integrin subunits, or normal mouse IgG (open bars). Cells were then added to wells coated with either laminin, type IV collagen, or fibronectin and allowed to adhere for 20 minutes as described in Materials and Methods. Relative cell adhesion was assessed by measuring the amount of radioactivity. Data are expressed as mean ± SD.
