Expression of wild-type, kinase-dead, and nondegradable Aur-A mutants in NIH3T3 cells all result in centrosome amplification and multinucleation. NIH3T3 cells stably infected with retroviruses expressing vector alone (A,B), wild-type Aur-A (C,D), K169R (E,F), Δ118 (G,H), and R378A (I,J) were stained for DNA with Hoechst (blue) and centrosomes with γ-tubulin (red).
