Lymphoid follicles with germinal centers are present in cervix from women with high-grade SIL. Immunohistochemistry on serial sections from a paraffin-embedded sample of high-grade SIL (HIV-negative) was performed with antibody against CD4 (a), CD20 (b), CD8 (c), CD68 (d); positively stained cells appear brown. The stromal-epithelial junction is marked with a dashed line. Serial but not adjacent sections were stained with antibodies against CD68 (e) and for DNA fragmentation (f).
