Analysis of pituitaries from mice with targeted disruption of the p18 and p27 genes. Most mice were sacrificed at 11 months. The p27/p18 double-null mice that were sacrificed at 2 to 3 months because of increasing morbidity because of rapidly enlarging pituitaries. The p27-null and p18-null mice were sacrificed at 11 months of age. The pituitaries were weighed and divided into aliquots for histological and immunohistochemical studies.
