A: DMSO (0.5%) inhibits both basal and mannitol (100 mmol/L)-stimulated IL-8 production by HT-29 cells. Growth medium on cells was switched with fresh growth medium with or without mannitol, both in the presence or absence of 0.5% DMSO.
