Intragraft IFN-γ level increased in allografts starting at day 4 after transplantation and remained elevated at the other examined time points. There was a transient rise in IFN-γ level in the donor hearts transplanted into CD4−/− recipients. IFN-γ level in isografts was minimal (n = 6 per time point).
