Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) was in 39 patients with infectious endocarditis determined in serum as described earlier [14,15]. Patients with MBL < 100 µg/l were considered MBL-deficient. NVE = native valve endocarditis, PVE = prosthetic valve endocarditis; coag.neg. = coagulase-negative.
