Figure 5. — Noxa mediates cell death in response to hypoxia. (A) Saos-2 cells were transiently transfected with 1 μg pcDNA-Noxa or mock vector. After 18 h of transfection, cells were cultured in normoxic condition or subjected to hypoxia for the indicated time points. Dead cells were counted by trypan blue exclusion method (*, P < 0.05). (B) Saos-2 cells were treated with AS or SE oligonucleotides 6 h before hypoxic assault and then subjected to hypoxia for the indicated times.
