The histone acetylation pattern of the β-globin locus in MEL cells
recapitulates that of fetal liver. ChIP analysis was used to define the
histone acetylation pattern of the endogenous β-globin
locus in MEL cells. The brain-specific necdin promoter was used as a
negative control. Representative ethidium bromide-stained gels are
shown. The graphs show the relative intensity of the PCR products
(mean ± SEM). The number of independent determinations for HS2,
Ey, βH1, βmajor, and necdin were 5, 4, 5, 7, and 6, respectively.
