RNA prepared and real-time PCR carried out independently for each experiment, from Ery.A sorted from at least one β-thal or ts-VHL −/− mouse and one matched littermate.

Mean ± SD of ΔΔCT from triplicate samples for each experiment. ΔΔCT is the difference in cycle number for the indicated mRNAs, between template RNA from β-thal or ts-VHL −/− mouse and its matched littermate, relative to β-actin mRNA in each sample.

Calculated as 2 to the power of the mean ΔΔCT for all experiments.
