Protein A stimulates RNA1fs stabilization. Yeast cells transformed with pF1fs alone (A) or together with pFAwt-YFP (B) or pFAD692E-YFP (C) were grown in selective galactose medium to mid-log phase and then switched to selective glucose medium. Total RNAs and total proteins were isolated from equal volumes of yeast cells collected 0 to 2 hours after the switch to selective glucose medium and were analyzed by Northern and Western blotting as described in the legend to Fig. 1. RNA levels, determined from five independent experiments, were graphed as the percentage of positive-strand RNA1fs remaining compared to that at time zero (D).
