Mononuclear cells (MNC) from the cord blood were cultured in the presence of rIL-2 and a mixture of rIL-2 and rIL-12 in a 24-well culture plate for 14 days. CD56+ NK and CD56+ T cells were induced from MNC of the cord blood by rIL-2, but rIL-12 rather suppressed their expansion.
