Dose dependence of the MCP-1 secretion by Staphylococcus aureus-infected endothelial cells. Monolayers of endothelial cells were incubated with increasing numbers of S. aureus strain 42D (□) or strain CAPD (▪), for 60 min at 37°C, washed with lysostaphin and cultured for an additional 3 h or 23 h and the amount of MCP-1 secreted in the culture supernatant was measured.
