IFN-γ stimulation of RAW 264.7 murine macrophages and the effect of benznidazole (BZL) on the synthesis of nitrite, tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), IL-6, IL-10 and IL-1β. Following overnight incubation with supplemented Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM) medium (see Fig. 1 legend), culture medium was replaced by fresh medium containing IFN-γ (500 U/ml) with or without BZL. Culture supernatants were collected 24 h later for nitrite and cytokine measurements. Data correspond to a representative experiment of four independent experiments performed with similar results.
