Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labelling (TUNEL)⁺ cells are stained black. CD4/TUNEL double-positive cells appear with black nuclear staining with red cytoplasmic/cell surface staining. Counterstain was done with methyl green.
