Uptake of ³H-thymidine by cultured proximal tubular epithelial cells (PTEC) following treatment with C5a. Cells were plated and 3 days later were treated with C5a (50 nm, 100 nm, 200 nm, and 400 nm). Control cultures were treated with medium alone. ³H-thymidine uptake was quantified at 48 h and 72 h after C5a treatment. Treatment with C5a was not mitogenic.
