Table 1.

Classification of Pre- and Post-reward task-related epochs according to their average activity in the NO-choice task

Pre Post
1 1.2 = 0.4 = 0 81 (17%) 19(24%)

2 1.2 ≠ 0.4 ≠ 0 54 5
3 1.2 ≠ (0.4 = 0) 61 8

4 Sub-total 1.2 ≠ 0.4 115(25%) 13(16%)

5 (1.2 = 0.4) > 0 207 34
6 (1.2 = 0.4) < 0 64 14

7 Sub-total (1.2 = 0.4) ≠ 0 271 (58%) 48 (60%)

Total 467(100%) 80(100%)

547 epochs in 195 cells are classified with a Post-hoc Fisher LSD test, p<0.05. The first column reports the line number. In each line is indicated the number of pre-reward (third column) and post-reward (fourth column) epochs in which activity shows the pattern indicated in the second column. For example, the first line indicates that 81 pre-reward and 19 post-reward epochs show similar activity in NO-choice trials 1.2ml, 0.4ml, and 0ml. Note that the total number of post-reward epochs (80) is different from the total number of neurons studied (195) since all post-reward epochs were not task-related.
