Changes in photosynthetic electron transport activity of thylakoid membranes. pgsA mutant cells grown in medium containing PG were transferred to fresh medium with (squares) or without (circles) PG. Cells were cultivated for the designated time and thylakoid membranes were isolated. Photosynthetic electron transport activity with DCPIP as an electron acceptor was measured in the absence (white symbols) or presence (black symbols) of DPC. One hundred percent activity that reflects the initial electron transport activities measured at 30°C were 102 and 100 μmol DCPIP mg Chl⁻¹ h⁻¹ in the absence and presence of DPC, respectively.
