Volcano plots depict the log2 fold change (horizontal axes) of normalized and averaged intensity values for each gene (each point) plotted against the −log10(P value) (vertical axes) of tomato age (A) and cultivar (B) comparisons. Any spots above the dashed line (representing an FDR of 1 in 20) are considered to be significantly expressed. No significant difference in gene expression was detected between 4- and 8-week-old tomato plants. One gene was considered differentially expressed between ‘Motelle’ and ‘Moneymaker.’
