Naked pDNA, virosomes with pDNA attached to the surface or virosomes with encapsulated pDNA were treated with detergent alone (total DNA) (A), benzonase (protection) (B), or detergent and benzonase (complete digestion) (C). Virosomes were prepared either with DODAC or DOTAP as indicated. Samples were analysed on a 1% (w/v) agarose gel stained with ethidium bromide. The results shown are one representative of three experiments.
