Genes 4831 to 4844 and the second EaCoMT allele, etnE1, appear to be the result of a duplication of genes 4810 to 4823, evidenced by high amino acid similarities and the conservation of gene orientation. For example, genes 4814 and 4822 share 90 and 86% amino acid similarities, respectively, with genes 4841 and 4833.
