Multistep growth properties of MHV-68 mutants. NIH 3T3 cells were infected at a multiplicity of infection of 0.01 at 37°C. After 1 h of adsorption at 37°C, the inoculum was removed and fresh medium was added. Cells and supernatants were harvested at the indicated time points, and viral titers were determined by plaque assay. The pictogram schematically illustrates the mutants investigated.
