The ESR normal levels were adjusted for age and sex as follows: for females of age 18 to 51 years, the normal level was 0 to 25 mm/h; for females of age 51 to 66 years, the normal level was 0 to 30; for males of age 18 to 51 years, the normal level was 0 to 15; for males of age 51 to 66 years, the normal level was 0 to 20; for males and females of more than 66 years of age, the normal level was 0 to 40.
