Transgene expression enhancement in xrs6 cells is not dependent on promoter regulation. Transgene expression in xrs6 and CHO cells after transfection with various plasmids encoding the LacZ transgene under EF1, CMV, or LTR(HR′) promoters was determined. Transgene expression is reported as the β-Gal activity in xrs6 cells relative to the activity in transfected CHO cells (defined as 1). Three independent experiments were performed for each construct in triplicate.
