Phylogenetic analysis of the central 300 amino acid penton fragment (106 to 466; compare Fig. 1) including SAdV-1, SAdV-B21, and SAdV-E25, as well as prime strain HAdV-D17′H30 and the intermediate strain HAdV-D44H38. Seven subclusters of species HAdV-D and two subclusters of species HAdV-B were deduced from the phylogenetic analysis of the penton base protein.
