Summary of the indels found in the CMV populations described in reference 25.
Mutations are described in terms of the nucleotide number and residue; e.g., the insertion 2006T is the insertion of a T residue after nt 2006, and the deletion 2006T is the deletion of a T residue after nt 2006. The nucleotide number is arbitrary when mutations occurred in runs of a single nucleotide.
Two nucleotides were deleted in one mutant. All other mutations were of single nucleotides.
