Figure 6 Protection from DSS‐induced colitis in CD40KO and CD40LKO mice. Experimental colitis was induced with dextran sodium sulphate (DSS) in either wild‐type (WT) mice or CD40 knockout (CD40KO) or CD40L knockout (CD40LKO) mice, in accordance with previously published protocols.33 The percentage of weight loss (panel A) and disease activity index (DAI; panel B) were monitored as indicators of disease severity. Results are representative of independent experiments (eight animals per group) and are expressed as mean and standard deviation. *p<0.01 when comparing either CD40KO or CD40LKO mice with their WT counterpart.
