The natural log of (CRP + 1) was used as the response in all models.
Models were adjusted for age, sex, and BMI, WHR, smoking status (current, past, never), alcoholic drinks per week, hours of exercise per week, diagnosed diabetes, hypertension (systolic ≥ 140 or diastolic ≥ 90 mmHg or antihypertensive medication), cholesterol-lowering medication and supplemental estrogen (hormone replacement therapy or oral contraceptives).
