Reconstitution of apo-AP with Zn₇MT-2 in the presence of oxidizing agents. Apo-AP, 0.5 μM, was incubated with Zn₇MT-2, 0.29 μM, and various concentrations of DTNB (⧫) or GSSG (▪) in 10 mM Tris⋅HCl, pH 8.0. Aliquots were taken after 2 hr and assayed spectrophotometrically for enzymatic activity. AP activity of 100% corresponds to reactivated apo-AP in the absence of oxidizing agents under otherwise identical conditions.
