In (A), a random sample of bimodal individuals (patients and healthy controls, n = 25) was analysed for expression of mPR3 after priming of neutrophils with TNFα. On the basis of these values, mPR3^– neutrophils were defined as having an mPR3 expression ⩽60 MFI and mPR3⁺ neutrophils as having an mPR3 expression >60 MFI. In (B), mPR3 expression of all individuals monomodal in their mPr3 expression is depicted. Results are expressed as MFI of mPR3 from which binding of an irrelevant isotype control was withdrawn.
