The numbers in parentheses indicate nucleotide numbers in the RSV strain A2 genome (GenBank accession no. M74568M74568 and refs. 30 and 31). The nucleotide sequences, except for that of spA4-scramble3′-3′T/(8281–8299), are complementary (or antisense) to the RSV mRNAs. Bu, butanediol linkers; P-S indicates all of the internucleotide linkages were phosphorothioates.
