Real-time monitoring of the effects of antibiotics on S. aureus Xen 29 biofilm infection in mice. Seven days after implantation of precolonized catheters with 10⁴ CFU of S. aureus, the mice were treated or not treated with antibiotics (twice a day for 4 consecutive days) and were imaged periodically over a 4-week period by using an IVIS camera.
