The values for each allele on the horizontal axis represent the mean of all genotypes in the selfed progeny that carried that allele (e.g., S1_, S5_, etc.). The bold horizontal line represents the overall mean for all plants. Plants carrying allele S9 set significantly more seed per self-pollination and significantly less seed per outcross pollination than plants carrying any other allele present in the population.
