Time-course study of sAPPα secretion in the hippocampus by prucalopride in adult APP/V717I transgenic mice. The mice were treated with a single dose of prucalopride (5 mg kg−1, s.c.) or saline (5 ml kg−1) (clear bar). Brain sAPPα and β-actin levels (used as internal control) were measured 30, 90 and 240 min after the injection. In (a) a representative immunoblot illustrating the effects of time on sAPPα levels is shown. In (b), the mean densitometric values (±s.e.m.) of sAPPα levels, relative to β-actin (used as internal control), are expressed as percentages of values in untreated control mice.
