Measurements (nm) of the vasoconstrictor potency (EC₅₀) in human middle meningeal arteries (HMMA) and affinity for cloned human 5-HT₁-receptors (IC₅₀). EC₅₀ values represent asymtotic mean [asymtotic error] derived from non-linear regression analysis. Curves were fitted to the overalll mean data (n = 4–6). IC₅₀ values represent mean values (±s.e.mean) derived from n = 3–4 experiments. Concentration-effect curves of percentage inhibition for [³H]-5-HT binding assays were plotted and analysed by non-linear, least squares regression analysis using an iterative curve fitting routine (Marquardt-Levenberg method). IC₅₀ values were calculate from these curves.
