Inclusion criteria

patients meeting all of the following criteria are considered for inclusion in the study: - men and women, 18–68 years of age - scheduled for first liver transplantation - written informed consent - protein-calorie malnutrition defined as mid-arm muscle area (MAMA) <85% standard

patients with any of the following will not be included in the trial: - patients <18 and >68 years - pregnant or nursing women - history of hypersensitivity to arginine, ω-3 fatty acids, or nucleotides - inability to take oral nutrition - patients with fulminant or subacute hepatic failure - mental condition rendering the subject incapable of understanding the nature, scope, and consequences of the trial No subject will be enrolled in this study more than once.
