Mean percent BOLD contrast is plotted as a function of stimulus contrast in left (top) and right (bottom) MT+. Data are shown for 8 subjects of various ages, sorted from left to right by phonological awareness standard scores (ranging from 85 (S1) to 121 (S8)). Lines are fit by minimizing least square error. See Table S2 for the behavioral characteristics and slopes measured in each of these individuals. Error bars are ± 1 SEM across repetitions of each condition throughout the experiment.
