Degradation of a 2′-O-methylated oligoribonucleotide by MgR, EcR, and EcII. Reactions were carried out and products were separated using the same condition as in Figure 3. The sequence of this 17-mer oligoribonucleotide is 5′-CAGUUG(Um)GAUCGAUCCC-3′. The labeled 17-mer was treated with buffer or RNase in a time course indicated on the top of the gel. A [³²P]-labeled RNA Decade Markers (Ambion) was included in the gel (not shown), and the sizes are shown on the left. The sizes of RNA products are shown on the right.
