CZE-CD analysis of anions profile in epithelial tissue and subepithelial liquid samples from midgut of mosquito larvae. Orthogonal overlay of typical electrophoretic traces are shown. Samples were introduced by pressure. The 81.5/25 mM arginine/borate BGE9.5 with 0.5 mM of TTAOH was used. A commercial PrinCE HPCE unit with Crystal-1000 CD was used. A fused silica capillary (50 μm i.d., 70-cm length) was used and the separation voltage was −20 kV. Abbreviations are: REM, rearing media; LUM, ectoperitrophic fluid (lumen) sample from the anterior midgut area; TIS, anterior midgut tissue sample; HEM, hemolymph; STD, 2-ppm mixture of anion standards. Z-axis is a conductivity signal. Reproduced from [249], Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America 98, D.Y. Boudko, L.L. Moroz, W.R. Harvey, P.J.
