Diagram depicts pulse sequence timing. Fast SE imaging is preceded by slab inversion and a delay τ. The inversion radio-frequency sinc spans 8π radians to create a selective inversion with a sharp transition and high inversion efficiency. Two T1 recovery curves show the differential enhancement seen between regions of high and low arterial perfusion. M0 = without preinversion, τopt = optimal time between refocusing pulses.
