Ergosterol peroxide induces CDKN1A gene expression in HT29 human colon adenocarcinoma cells. HT29 cells (1 × 10⁴ cells ml⁻¹) were incubated with 7 or 12 μM ergosterol peroxide for 3 or 5 days. Then, RT–PCR was performed and the CDKN1A expression levels were normalized to GAPDH and plotted relative to those of control cells. All assays were performed in triplicate and data are expressed as means±s.d. ^*P<0.01 (two-sided), significantly different from the untreated control group by Bonferroni-type multiple t-test.
