ONOO inhibition reduces bacterial count in blood from mice with sepsis. Mice were in sham, MSI and SSI groups. Bacterial count in blood was determined 6 h after CLP. Animals were pretreated, s.c., with saline or UA (100 mg kg−1) 1 h before SSI.
