Mrc1 protects telomeres from shortening and inhibits ssDNA generation at uncapped telomeres. (A) Southern blot where the telomere length of various strains was examined. DNA was extracted from strains grown at 23 °C in liquid YEPD. Strains used were DLY640 (wild type), DLY641 (wild type), DLY2512 (mrc1Δ), DLY2709 (mrc1Δ), DLY1366 (yku70Δ), DLY2584 (yku70Δ) and DLY1091 (rad50Δ). The error bars represent the standard error of the mean calculated from three independent measurements of each sample.
